Top global bank is seeking an outstanding senior U.S. macroeconomist to join their prestigious global research team reporting directly to the Chief U.S. Economist based in New York City.

The successful candidate will serve as second in seniority to the Chief U.S. Economist working closely with research colleagues.  He/she will perform highest quality, in-depth and insightful U.S. economic research and forecasting, advise senior business managers (trading, sales and banking) regarding relevant US economic topics/implications for the business, actively participate in client presentations and work closely with the sales force. Frequent interactions with internal and significant external clients, media, and policy makers. The successful candidate will author in-depth research pieces, provide direction to members of the US economic team on written research and publications, develop/ maintain forecasting models for real-time assessments of current and future U.S. macroeconomic conditions and assist in scenario generation for the Federal Reserve’s Comprehensive Capital Assessment and Review. The Senior U.S. Economist will assume the responsibilities of the Chief U.S. Economist in his absence.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in U.S. economic analysis, public policy, and financial markets, derived from a public policy institution, key competitor, fund manager or top economic consulting firm. Strong academic background – advanced degree in Economics from a top university (M.A., Ph.D.)

He/she will have a rigorous approach to research with the ability to produce first-class innovative, independent research. Co-Head U.S. Rates Research

Top global bank (major markets participant/award winning global research platform) is seeking an outstanding Senior U.S. Rates Strategist to serve as Co-Head of U.S. Rates Research based in New York City.

The successful candidate will work in partnership with global research colleagues, members of the business (trading, sales, and banking) and significant external clients. He/she will perform as a player coach managing several U.S. rates strategists, formulate the bank’s views on U.S. interest rates and all interest rate related products, cover U.S. Treasuries (cash/derivatives) and TIPs market in detail, conducting stand-out thematic research with a focus on trade idea generation and monetizable ideas across U.S. rates.

The Co-Head U.S. Rates Research will produce daily and weekly research pieces on macro and micro views of factors affecting interest rates including monetary policy, fiscal policy, and global macro-economic developments.  He/she will devise/recommend trade ideas to internal and external clients (money managers, pension funds, central banks, and hedge funds) to help take advantage of macroeconomic factors affecting interest rates, create models and valuation frameworks for identifying relative value in interest rate markets, and work with the sales force in maintaining relationships with clients by updating with latest market developments, conference calls and one-on-one meetings.

The ideal candidate will have significant expertise in U.S. rates research with particular focus on TIPs and U.S. rates derivatives derived from investment management, top sell-side competitors, or public sector. He/she will display a rigorous approach to research, innovative thinking, excellent written and verbal communication abilities and the highest level of ethics and integrity. The successful candidate will have strong client facing skills, thoughtful approach to leadership, graduate academic training from a top university (Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, Computational Finance, Statistic or related area).

Chief European Economist

A highly profitable family office $11 billion (AUM) is seeking a Chief European Economist to join their team in London. The successful candidate will serve as an integral member of the global economic research team. He/she will report directly to the Chief Economist.

The responsibilities include conducting highest-quality rigorous/ insightful economic research and forecasting; formulating his/her views on European economies and markets; actively participating in presentations; and advising portfolio managers regarding relevant economic topics/themes and possible implications for the financial markets. He/she will respond to economic/policy announcements and have an intermediate and long-term view enabling him/her to identify trends that could cause turmoil/change in market direction.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in European region macro-economic analysis derived from a major bank, hedge fund/asset manager, central bank or a multi-lateral agency. He/she will have substantial relevant economic analysis and forecasting experience coupled with a strong track record. The successful candidate is an innovative thinker and consummate team player with the ability to operate as a stand-alone entity without the help of a large team. He/she has a strong analytical/ technical background with graduate academic training from a top university (Ph.D. preferred) and possesses the highest level of ethics and integrity. He/she will have in-depth understanding of European monetary and fiscal policy, strong commercial acumen/effective public speaker and ability to partner with portfolio managers, senior management and research colleagues.
